The electronic music label Exil-System was founded in 1979 in Berlin, Germany. It is one of the last remaining early 80's DIY-labels that evolved from the legendary "Neue Deutsche Welle" movement - aka German New Wave.
Exil-System is particularly noted for bringing out some of the most sought after German electronic music releases of the past 30 years.
| One of the label’s first releases was the strictly limited "49 Second Romance" single by P1/E. The record featured fourteen year old Alexander Hacke on drums who later came to worldwide fame with his band Einstürzende Neubauten. |

Further groundbreaking artists that have released on Exil-System include Weltklang, Mono/45 UPM, The Model, Mihai Popoviciu, Kinder aus Asbest, Aeronautica, Electric Indigo and many more.
